今年世界智慧財產權日的主題是"電影，全世界的熱情"。這個主題提供了一個機會提醒世界各地的電影觀眾，創意產業創造了大量的就業機會，但那些下載或購買的電影盜版的人卻大大了傷害電影工作者以及影響了依靠電影工業的相關工作人員的生計。美國國務院經濟方略的目標是支持世界智慧財產權日的活動。

Do you know that April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day? This year’s World IP Day theme, “Movies, A Global Passion,” presents an opportunity to remind film viewers around the world that creative industries generate many jobs and those who download or purchase pirated copies of films are harming filmmakers and the support staff involved with production and distribution who depend on filmmaking for their livelihoods. World IP Day activities support the Department of State’s Economic Statecraft goals. The State Department’s 2014 World IP Day message this year is: “When creativity is protected, local film industries and creative economies flourish!”
